Project Overview: Steenbok Construction Limited served as the Main Contractor for the comprehensive renovation of the National RMNCH/EPI Cold Stores, MOH, Lusaka. A defining achievement of this project was the successful execution of structural and civil works while the prefabricated cold rooms remained fully operational. This required meticulous logistical precision and climate-integrity management to ensure the continuous safety of the national vaccine supply.

Key Technical Scope:

• Structural Remediation & Steelwork: Reinforced existing structural steelwork and executed specialized wall crack repairs to restore the long-term structural integrity of the warehouse facility.
• Building Envelope & Roofing: Managed the phased demolition of the existing roof covering, replaced with high-specification roofing systems and integrated rainwater goods to ensure a completely weather-tight environment.
• Clinical-Grade Finishes: Installation of terrazzo flooring and ceiling systems. Works included professional carpentry, joinery, and the installation of heavy-duty aluminium doors designed for industrial warehouse use.
• Specialized MEP Works: Upgraded electrical installations to support the facility’s critical power requirements
• Metalwork: Integrated metal works for enhanced security.
• Operational Continuity: Developed and maintained a “zero-downtime” workflow, managing dust, vibration, and thermal exposure to protect the functional cold storage units during construction.
